photographer, frustrated musician and father of two children, Luke and Grace. He lives in Manhattan with his significant other, Amy, and a spotted dog, Sierra. Artist's Statement I grew up an Army Brat and
although I was fortunate enough to get to see and live in many different areas of the world, one place that always fascinated me was New York City. And now that I live here, I still find it fascinating. I could
spend a lifetime photographing this great city and never be bored. I've tried to capture facets of the city's essence without relying on standard images. It's often the case that as I'm taking a picture, people walking
by will pause, puzzled, and look to see what it is I'm seeing. My eye is attracted to geometry, patterns, reflections, abstract color compositions and the interesting mise-en-scenes I come across just walking the
streets. Although I find all of the city compelling, for this show I have limited my focus to Manhattan. I hope that my work communicates and celebrates the spirit, diversity and beauty that I find here. |
