For many years, Yaffe & Ruden featured four different gallery walls. Every month a new exhibition opened, usually featuring the work of someone related to, often part of the practice. An opening
night party was held on Thursday nights. Friends of the artist, as well as friends of the practice were invited.
The goal was to have an
office environment that was friendly and non-threatening. Recognizing the anxiety that can accompany a visit to the doctor, we felt that art softens the experience. In addition, we
encouraged our gallery viewers to interact with the art.
We are proud to have had many creative patients, a number of whom work professionally in the arts but had not yet at that time exhibited.
Examples included art directors who paint, commercial photographers, illustrators, and designers. Each gallery remained up for 4 months, and patients and friends were
free to come by during office hours and view the works. While we no longer change our gallery presentations, we have many works still on display for patients to enjoy. Early examples
of our gallery presentations were photographed and are presented here for you to see by clicking the links to the left. |
