IN EXTREME EMERGENCIES -

Go directly to the emergency room and have the doctor notify us. We are affiliated with Lenox Hill Hospital on 77th & Lexington. If that is not practical, go to the nearest ER.

Routine Issues After Office Hours

Do not call with routine issues after office hours. Try to anticipate that we will be out of the office after 7 PM, that we've put in 12-hour days, that we may not have immediate access to a phone, or may be temporarily in a beeper-inaccessible area, and we may have trouble getting prescriptions after-hours. By anticipating urinary infections, vomiting, pain, etc. you can often catch us in the office before 7 PM where the communications process, and the backup staff makes everything more efficient.

Calling 911

Calling 911 will get you an ambulance that takes you to the nearest ER.
Calling Metropolitan Ambulance
1-888-383-4203 or 3069 will get you an ambulance that will take you to Lenox Hill.

After 7 PM &
On Weekends

Please call the office and expect the service to answer. Expect a call back within 45 minutes. if you do not hear from the doctor on call, report back to the service and have them try again. In serious emergencies, go to the emergency room and notify your insurance company.

Urgent, but not an emergency

If the situation is urgent, but not an emergency, please wait for our callback. We can accommodate most urgencies, if you just show up at the office at 8 AM.

We will not refill prescriptions during off hours. That is not an emergency.
